I've heard you say, [5.68 -> 12.16] if you could try not to die within the next 10 to 15 years, you might want to try to do that [12.16 -> 19.92] because you could live an extra 50 years. Can you explain and unpack why you think that? [19.92 -> 21.52] What makes you believe that? [22.40 -> 28.80] Yeah, so I've said that quite a few times in the last year or two, actually. [29.68 -> 38.48] And it may not even take 10, 15 years, might be even closer. The reason is that the technology, [38.48 -> 44.88] especially because of AI, is expanding exponentially. So our minds think in a linear [44.88 -> 50.00] term. So we think that the next 10 years is going to be as much advanced as the last 10 [50.00 -> 54.32] years or the last 15 years. But that's not what's going to happen. In the next 10 years, [54.32 -> 59.60] you can think of it as more advanced than the last century. So imagine that you are living in [59.60 -> 67.04] early 1900s. And somebody told you that we're going to have vaccines and you will never get [67.04 -> 74.40] smallpox or you won't die of tuberculosis. People would laugh at you. So that's not [74.40 -> 81.28] possible. So that's the speed that we're talking about. But there's something even more important [81.28 -> 88.80] because of this acceleration. The advances of treating diseases is also going to accelerate [88.80 -> 94.96] dramatically. So we will get to a point what's called the longevity escape velocity. This was [94.96 -> 102.16] coined by Aubrey de Grey, who's, as you know, is a great aging researcher. So the point is [102.24 -> 107.44] that we will come to a point in the next, I would say probably eight to 10 years, [108.16 -> 114.40] where every year you live is going to add more than a year to your life. So let's just say [116.16 -> 124.24] 10 years ago, 10 years later, you get a cancer that normally is not curable and you only have [124.24 -> 131.84] one or two years to live. But during that one year, there is going to be a new treatment [131.84 -> 136.56] that will cure that cancer. So automatically it's going to add several years or maybe 10, [136.56 -> 144.96] 15 years to your life. Or we're already starting to see that with the GLP-1 drugs receptor agonist, [146.48 -> 152.32] which are adding about five to 10 years to a lifespan of people who are obese or have chronic [152.32 -> 158.80] conditions, will have sort of the muscle generators, which I think will have tremendous [158.80 -> 163.84] impact on the aging population because, as you know, that's a huge problem. So all of these things [163.84 -> 172.40] will add up and the technology in AI is going to keep accelerating. So 10 years later, what will [172.40 -> 179.28] happen in a year will be like what happens in 20 years of advance. And then we'll get to a point [179.28 -> 187.76] probably 15 maximum 20 years, where we will be able to completely reverse the aging process. So if [187.76 -> 193.68] you're eight years old, nine years old, you will get back to age 30, 40, whatever. So that's going to [193.68 -> 200.40] add up 50 years or 100 years to your lifespan. And then you can keep doing that and extend it [200.40 -> 206.88] almost indefinitely. So I think this is probably the most critical time in human history. So try [206.88 -> 208.88] not to die for the next 10 years.
