[0.00-2.00] Have you seen this? [2.00-4.00] This is five-year-old Rose. [4.00-9.00] She was one of 60 kids to undergo an exhaustive study in the U.S. [9.00-15.00] Using an MRI machine to scan the brains of kids, age three to five years old, [15.00-18.00] the results truly shocking. [18.00-24.00] Interactive screen time causes a loss of white matter in the brain. [24.00-29.00] Well, in the simplest terms, we could actually refer to as some measure of brain impairment or brain damage. [30.00-38.00] Professor Mike Nagel from the University of the Sunshine Coast has spent a career studying child-brain development. [38.00-41.00] So white matter in the brain is a material called myelin. [41.00-47.00] So what myelin does is it wraps around the axons of neurons and acts like an insulator conductor, [47.00-50.00] not too dissimilar to the plastic coating of a wire. [50.00-53.00] So if we're seeing definite in myelin production early in life, [53.00-55.00] we're probably seeing deficits in neural connectivity. [55.00-61.00] My goal is to get as many children as possible off of tablets using brain game worksheets. [61.00-65.00] These worksheets strengthen cognitive flexibility, problem-solving skills, [65.00-69.00] focus, attention, coordination, and much more. [69.00-72.00] There are 30 brain game worksheets in my brain game's workbook. [72.00-76.00] If interested, comment, brain games, and I'll send you the link. [76.00-79.00] I hope you all have a fantastic day, and God bless.
