- **Bel and the Dragon is real.** It is a deuterocanonical/apocryphal addition to Daniel in some Christian traditions.
- **Old English Bibles often included the Apocrypha.** Internet Archive has public-library volumes connected to the Authorized Version / A.D. 1611 tradition and Apocrypha, including `holybibleaccord02wacegoog` and related volumes.
- **Catholic Bible editions do not hide Bel and the Dragon.** The USCCB public Bible page for Daniel 14 is titled “Bel and the Dragon.” It is available at `https://bible.usccb.org/bible/daniel/14`.
- **Maccabees are important for Second Temple / ancient Israel context.** 1 and 2 Maccabees are deuterocanonical in Catholic tradition and important historically. Ethiopian Meqabyan is a separate Ethiopian tradition and should not be collapsed into Greek/Latin Maccabees.
