# Source note — Khafre Pyramid SAR / megastructure claim Original Facebook share URL: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1F8hpXycdo/?mibextid=wwXIfr Resolved Facebook video URL: https://m.facebook.com/watch/?v=1766446387838234&_rdr Uploader: peggybolton Upload date: 20260904 Duration: 90.046 seconds Views at capture: 115018 Local capture package: `/Users/macfebruary-20-2026/Downloads/me-facebook-video-1F8hpXycdo-20260905-170211` ## What the Reel claims The Reel says a research team scanned beneath the Khafre / “Coffrey” pyramid, released images in March, and claimed the data show eight huge spiral columns leading to giant chambers. It says Filippo Biondi, part of the team, performed a blind test at an underground physics laboratory and that independent satellite operators — Umbra, Capella Space, ICEYE and Cosmo-SkyMed — returned identical raw tomography data. It also says proposed access could use existing shafts between the Sphinx and Khafre pyramid rather than drilling. ## Source trail The Reel closely tracks tabloid/viral reporting about the Khafre Research Project and a Jesse Michels / American Alchemy interview with Filippo Biondi. WION reported the same “four satellite operators” claim and summarized Biondi’s assertion that the technique uses surface vibrations or acoustic fingerprints, not ordinary radar penetration. The Khafre Project’s own public abstract/press material names Corrado Malanga, Filippo Biondi and Armando Mei and says its March 2025 claim used publicly available SAR data. ## Evidence status - The social/video claim is **real as a claim**: the team and viral reporting do exist. - The claimed underground shafts/chambers are **not confirmed archaeology** in the public evidence trail I found. - AFP’s fact-check cites Egyptologist Jean-Guillaume Olette-Pelletier, Zahi Hawass and radar specialist Lawrence Conyers rejecting the claim as unsupported and technically implausible at the advertised depths. - Retraction Watch reported that the team’s earlier 2022 Remote Sensing paper about SAR Doppler tomography inside the Great Pyramid was retracted in August 2026 for serious methodological flaws and statistical errors. That does not disprove every later Khafre claim, but it weakens reliance on the same method until raw data, code and independent field verification are published. - The confirmed modern “pyramid void” benchmark is different: ScanPyramids used cosmic-ray muon radiography and reported the Khufu Big Void in Nature, with three muon technologies and independent analyses. That is the standard of evidence a new subsurface-pyramid claim should be compared against. ## Managing Expectations label Best label: **UAP/ancient-mystery media literacy, evidence gate open**. The story is interesting and worth filing because it shows how satellite/radar language, ancient-history mystery, and podcast amplification travel together. It should not be presented as a confirmed underground city or confirmed man-made megastructure.
